Why is uchimata 内股 considered feminine and cute?

One of the reason is that , maybe, uchimata hides female genital. Another one is that... If a woman in kimono walks in 外股 (sotomata) it causes her to expose her legs. Women's legs had to be hidden, even now a woman don't like show her legs when she is wearing kimono. And men love hidden stuff (thogh I don't know the reason) 、that's why 内股 (uchimata) is considered feminine and cute, I think.
